I took Mr. Franklin for his nail clipping. The breeder we got him from has a store front now, so they do wings and nails. They hadn't seen him in a few years so I figured it would also be a nice visit for them ( Read more... )

Since I have a full time job now I splurged and got Mr. Franklin a new toy (okay 3 new toys) since none of the animals got any for the holidays this past year. You can see in this picture it's a bit bigger than what he is used to.

Happy 2nd Birthday to Mr. Franklin...

this post is an excuse to use this user picture. it really looks like Mr. Franklin is like WHAT?!?!

i really don't have much to say. I'm still jobless. The BBQ went well, it was loads of fun. Mr. Franklin was in an awesome mood yesterday exploring people who were over and talking to them... it was tres cool!

I just had to post this picture of bird since Mr. Franklin has had all the attention. He was out earlier taking lots of pics with me. I have to say I am impressed with this shot's clarity. Enjoy!

Bird is now settling into a new cage. It's approximately three times the size of the one he's lived in for the last year and at least 4 times larger than the one he lived in for the first 19 or so years of his life.

This is Mr. Franklin. He makes this lalllalala mixed gobbling noise, s we chose Mr. Ben Franklin Parrot as his name. Ben Franklin had wanted the nation bird to be the turkey because it was a dignified and refined bird rather than the bald eagle. SO since Mr. Franklin makes this weird turkey sort of noise, he earned his name that way :)

My Christmas/Birthday present from John was a Macaw Parrot, speciffically a Catalina Macaw which is a hybrid, one parent is a blue and gold and the other a scarlett macaw... His birthday is August 4, 2006 so he's still mostly a baby and we have been waiting to bring him home as he was fledging(learning to fly) and being hand fed. I will give you ( Read more... )
